What is WiMAX?

WiMAX = Worldwide Interoperability of Microwave Access

The acronym is quite a mouthful isn’t it?
Simply put, WiMAX is a wireless digital communication system which is intended for wireless “metropolitan area networks”. Which basically means wireless Internet with coverage that blankets cities! P1 W1MAX runs on the 2.3 GHz WiMAX spectrum and 802.16e standard, which is also known as Mobile WiMAX. It’s a technology that enables wireless broadband access up to 30 miles (50 km) for fixed stations. Plus, WiMAX is designed to deliver up to 40 Mbps speed per channel. Wow!
